My husband was convinced that he had to buy the same shoes that he always bought for work. I admit they were classic, Italian leather shoes and they did look nice with his suits. Nobody else at his work had shoes that looked as nice. I know, because I consider myself a connoisseur of shoes. I typically do the shopping for shoes in the family, buy my husband has shoe guidelines that he gives. Like, for instance, when his old work shoes wear out I need to get the exact same pair in the same size. Even though they hurt his feet, he would not even want to discuss searching for more comfortable mens shoes.

The fact of the matter is, we can go 30 years wearing the same shoe and wake up one day and find that they don't fit anymore. The reason is, your foot changes as you get older. Some people find that their foot spreads in all directions whereas other people might lose weight and need a shoe that is narrower. I actually had a friend whose foot eventually began to spread. You can't always wear the same shoe. It was time for my husband to accept this fact and to help him I began to search comfortable mens shoes online so I could show him what I found.

Admittedly, I was not sure if I would find anything even close to what he likes, but I began to search anyway. I was even able to find comfortable dress shoes that were similar to the work shoes he currently was wearing. I found that by choosing comfort did not mean he had to forgo a stylish shoe.

I purchased some dress shoes and casual shoes from a website that had an easy return policy. I wanted him to try the shoes, but I didn't want a big hassle of returning them if he didn't like them. When they arrived and he tried them on, he was instantly hooked. Not only did they still look great with his suits, his feet were not in pain. He wore them to work and for the first time in years he did not have to take his shoes off when he was sitting at his desk. Comfort and style were just a click away on the computer. We now wish we had started the search for comfortable mens shoes years ago.
